STATE WINNER OF THE YOUNG BLOODS RADIO ADVERTISEMENT COMPETITION       

Congratulations! 

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service announced that Thornlie Senior High School has been awarded the grand prize;

Entrant ‘Donate Blood’ was awarded first prize for its catchy tune, repetitive message, warm group dynamics, clear call to action and a call for national awareness. 

The six students who created the “Donate Blood” advertisement, will now be asked to participate in a professional recording of the thirty second advert this June.  This professional recording will be played on-air by Nova 93.7fm between the 6th – 12th July 2009. 

In addition as state winner, Thornlie SHS will automatically be entered as a National finalist.  The advertisement will be available for on-line public voting (www.donateblood.com.au) throughout July, and a national winner will be announced on Wednesday 5th August.   The national winner will receive three weeks of additional on-air broadcasting during August and the associated school will receive 16 pod casting microphone, headphone and tripod stations for future recording and media training activities.
